Bleep’s Guide to British Independent Music

Following from last years guide to electronic music - this should be unmissable for any music fan:

Bleep’s Guide to British Independent Music is an audio and visual walk through the emergence of independent music in Britain.

Bleep’s Guide to British Independent Music compiles some of the best and most influential moments in the history of British independents. The focus is largely on the labels and musicians who have recorded and sold music through independent means or have showed a particularly independent spirit in the way their music is released. At the heart of our story are the the biggest independent labels of the last 50 years: Beggars Banquet, Rough Trade, Domino, Ninja Tune, XL Recordings, Mute, 4AD and of course, Warp.

It should be noted that the narrative we have here is not intended as a completely comprehensive guide to every single aspect of British independent music. It is an ongoing work in progress which we will continue to add to over time.
