I read this the other day and couldn't believe it. A woman who had had to much to drink was driving and had a bad car crash. It was bad enough that it really injured her passenger. She ended up crashing against a light pole on the sidewalk.
However .... at her trial, her lawyers noticed that the light pole was about 5 feet away from the street, when the city regulations call for the pole to have a minimum setback from the street of 10 feet. Upon consideration, the judge is allowing her to sue the utility company for putting the pole too close to the street!
