Navigation Techniques for Dual-Display E-Book Readers
Alreadying existing e-book readers do refrain a good job supporting several checking out tasks that people carry out, as ethnographers report that when reading, people frequently check out from several display surfaces. In this paper we provide our design of a dual-display e-book reader and explore how it can be used to interact with digital files. Our design supports symbolized communications like folding, turning, and fanning for local/lightweight navigation.

We also demonstrate how systems like Space Filling Thumbnails could use the boosted display space to aid global navigation. The removable faces in our design could help with inter-document operations and flexible layout of files in the workspace. Semi-directed interviews with 7 individuals found that dual-displays have the potential to improve the reading encounter by supporting a number of local navigation tasks much better compared to a solitary display device.

Individuals also identified several reading tasks for which the device would certainly be important. Individuals did not find the symbolized user interface particularly helpful when checking out in our controlled laboratory setting.
